GLOBAL EDUCATORS PROGRAM

BRIEF OVERVIEW: The GLOBAL EDUCATORS PROGRAM is one of several programs offered through GLOBAL LINKS, a venture dedicated to providing high quality, personalized international opportunities for educators.

The program is directed by Dr. Carol LeBreck, who brings to the program expertise developed during 31 years of university teaching experience within the College of Education and 9 years of experience directing the International Visiting Teacher and Overseas Practice Teaching Programs at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

The Global Educators Program provides educators with short-term, 3-4 week, team-teaching and/or shadowing experiences in school sites AROUND THE WORLD. All participants register for a six-credit continuing education graduate course titled "Gaining a Global Perspective through Cultural Immersion"; credit is offered through the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, MN. The course/program allows each educator to design a personalized Professional Development Plan to meet his/her specific needs and interests. The program has been developed to serve the needs of educators from all educational levels (pre-K through post-secondary) and all subject/content areas, including administrators, special needs, counselors, etc. Individuals from any state in the USA are eligible to participate. Although most educators will participate during the months of June-August, opportunities would be available throughout the year should a sabbatical or leave of absence be granted. [Please note: These are not paid positions.]
